Earning CPFDA Certification
DANB establishes no prerequisites to take the CP, SE, TA and TF component exams. However, to earn CPFDA Certification, candidates must meet certain requirements, such as holding current CPR certification, holding DANB CDA Certification, graduating from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited dental assisting program, or holding an RDH license. Candidates may also need to submit proof of work experience, dentist verification of competency in the four functions or complete coursework in a dental assisting program from a state that allows dental assistants to perform all four functions. Candidates must pass all four component exams within a three-year window to apply for CPFDA Certification. |
